The fictitious "John Smith Photography" web site is designed to meet validation standards set by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This site meets XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1 validation requirements.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
This site was created using cascading style sheets. All pages in this web site are linked to a single CSS file.
The benefits of using cascading style sheets include:
- Cascading style sheets allow complete consistency with the look and feel of your pages.
- CSS separates the style from the content on your web site. By using an external style sheet (CSS), I am able to alter the entire web site style by editing only one single file.
- CSS reduces the overall amount of code in web pages. Pages with less code have smaller file sizes and load faster.
- Many popular search engines prefer web sites with less code and smaller file sizes.
- CSS increases web site accessibility & usability, even for non-disabled people.
